Hello. I'm a software engineer that used to work for John Reedy, the owner of Instaconnect and a city councilmember for the city of Lincoln, CA.

For those that don't know, Instaconnect is an Internet provider in Davis mostly notable for its lack of service. After working with John Reedy, I can safely add another detail: he does not pay his workers there!

John Reedy has stolen wages from most of the former engineering team, including me. We have, of course, tried to settle this privately, but John hasn't moved a finger in months. So, I am now honorbound to publicly harangue him so he can't defraud others, especially the university students he might try to recruit.

Considering how willing he is to scam people under his employ, my guess is that we are not the first. And we won't be the last, either, unless his access to people and power is limited. That's where you come in.

I'm glad you asked, Internet whispers! There are three main ways to help:

1. Spread this story to other Davis and Lincoln residents.

Tell your family and friends. Mention it to the computer science losers you know. Link it in that Discord server that's always ravenous for spite and haterdom. Post about it on social media for clout like any other drama. Cast a net. Fish for views. Let the people know.

2. If your apartment in Davis uses Instaconnect: complain to your apartment manager.
• You can check if you have it by looking at available Internet connections when you're home, and by checking your apartment's website. They will usually advertise that they have Instaconnect. The davis wiki is likely outdated.
• It's better to call or show up in person, but you're busy and the manager isn't in, so just send an email!

Additionally, I have personally used Instaconnect before, and find it slow and unreliable. I would much rather have a lower rent so I can pay for more reliable Internet service.

3. If you reside in Lincoln: complain to your city council.
• A petition to recall an elected official is not trivial and must be initiated by someone who lives in Lincoln. (Gah, plan foiled.)
• However, you can demand that city council reprimand and sanction John Reedy because he is untrustworthy. This is largely symbolic, but it affords other councilmembers greater opportunity to disrupt and deny John's political projects. This is important, because John Reedy does not deserve political power.
• It's better to call or show up, but you're busy and introverted, so just send a message to their complaint form!
